Shaping a peer-to-peer parcel network
The online shopping boom has put immense pressure on parcel delivery companies to make sure items are delivered on the first attempt. This is often during working hours, when people are not home to receive their package, leading to frustration for the recipient. If the first attempt fails, the companies incur high costs to make a second attempt, leading to inhumane working conditions for delivery staff, forcing them to work long hours.
After three long-time university friends had a couple of brainstorms, they saw the perfect opportunity for a solution. They approached us with their idea and a well-thought-out business plan. They asked us to assist them in making their idea real, finding important assumptions, and validating it with parcel delivery companies and the end-users.
Project outcome
At the conclusion of the sprint, our ultimate deliverable was a comprehensive investor pitch deck which allowed us to validate our value proposition with parcel companies and investors. This was the most crucial step towards our end goal of validating critical business assumptions. After that, we constructed a conceptual prototype, but getting input from key stakeholders was of paramount importance. Following this, our next step was to build a practical proof-of-concept.
