Recreating the Substack Podcasts feature in Figma

Substack is a personal (micro)blogging platform, that's been rolling out new features like crazy in 2022. I recreated one of my personal favorites, the podcast feature.

Substack is an online platform for creators to publish and monetize their content. Content creators can create newsletters, blog posts, and other forms of content, and subscribers can sign up to receive updates from the creators they follow. Substack also offers tools for creators to track analytics, manage subscribers, and collect payments.

Early in May, I saw a Tweet from Alex Cornell (product designer at Substack), announcing an update to Substack's podcast player. "A fully-featured app within an app, with all of my favorite audio design patterns in one experience", according to Cornell. I loved the way it looked and figured it would be cool to try and recreate the experience in Figma.
